ROOT-BOUND

Root-bound cover, created by Daniel James Clark.

In 2015, Juneau, Alaska, was decimated by an unnatural tsunami with no known cause. Days later, while the survivors were still cleaning up the mess, they discovered an invisible barrier surrounding them, blocking their access to the forests and the airport. All methods of communication were down, leaving the residents trapped and unable to get help. When they tried to leave by boat, they got turned around in fog and ended up back where they'd started. Even stranger, the trees in the forests all around the city turned black.

Seventy-five years later, a teenage boy begins to experience hallucinations. When his friends investigate the cause, they learn more about the barrier, leading to a plan to get the city reconnected to the rest of the world. But their plans are disrupted when they discover that a sinister being is responsible for their isolation—and that it will do whatever it can to stop them.

EDITING

I offer book editing and rewriting services. I've worked on non-fiction, including self-help and instructional guides, but I specialize in fiction. My favorite genres to work on are sci-fi, fantasy, and folk horror. Contact me below to talk about your project.
